_Mediterranean cruise tours can be some of the most rewarding holidays that you can pick.  From the experience of the port of Barcelona and all that the city has to offer to exploring places such as Venice, Croatia, The Canary Islands and even as far as Egypt cruises can take you on adventures and cultural expeditions you never dreamed of taking.  They can also offer a more simplistic holiday where you can lay in the sun and enjoy the beautiful weather in areas of the world that is famed for its beautiful beaches and glorious summer weather.

Planning is important when going on cruises like this.  For one where is the cruise going to start? Whether it is from Barcelona which is one of Europe’s biggest ports or somewhere smaller such as from ports in Croatia or Italy you will have to plan on getting there before you set off on the actual cruise itself.

The ports you start from will also be in beautiful cities that are ripe for exploration too, for example Barcelona.  With its cultural history with the chance to visit historical parts of the city and even view the works of Picasso Barcelona is a city that can be a holiday in itself.  For sports fans there is also the Camp Nou stadium which offers a chance to visit the home of the world famous Barcelona team, one of the most successful football teams in Europe. This is a must visit for any football fan.

For the cruise itself there are many choices of where to visit.  From round trips around the Mediterranean itself which ends up back at Barcelona or even one way trips that drop you off at another port you will need to decide which type of tour you are looking for.  Each has their benefits so it’s up to you as the holiday maker to decide what you want.

Also make plans on what time of year you are planning to go on.  During the summer months the temperature will be higher so plan accordingly.  If you are looking for weather that is easier to handle then aiming for a holiday closer to spring or even Autumn may be easier for you to handle.  This also has an effect on cost for people who want to save money.  The Summer time is the most expensive time for the cruises so plan accordingly.  There are many options available and many ports to choose from that offer different experiences.  You can travel further afield to places like the Canary Islands and Egypt if you desire, even though the Suez Canal or beyond.

Mediterranean cruises are flexible to fit the holiday maker’s needs.  Whether they want a more cultured experience where they visit places such as Venice with its vast history they have this choice.  Some may just want to enjoy the sun, there are tours which give this choice too, it’s all down to the decisions made at time of booking and their requirements.
